She was brave-picking up arms to defend her castle. I am glad to be saying goodbye to this year on a positive note in my reading! She is a charming heroine, who is brave, fighting for her beliefs. I think the average reader is certainly smart enough to put two and two together and realize that a lot of his trust issues comes from the fact that he feels guilty about his mistakes and thinks basically that he can't trust anyone since he can't even trust himself. But conquering Gwendolen's heart will take all his skills as a lover.

Angus "the lion" MacDonald has just reclaimed Kinloch Castle and claiked keep peace within the land and unite two clans he has claimed Gwen as his bride.

I actually enjoyed Angus's refusal to give in to love, it made the story emotional and it proved that he is a strong Highland man down to his soul.

The only thing I criticize a little was Gwen. Just another reason I ended up aggravated while reading this story. Claimed by the Highlander starts two years after the events in Captured by the Highlander. Loving does not make him weak but he is afraid it does.

I am eager to move on to Book 3!! It was their cliamed night and they had just had sex for the first time and Angus immediately tried to retreat. The fact is, I haven't felt this passionate about a story in awhile. It was amazing read.

Soon, Gwen goes from blushing virgin to wanton wife. I loved both Angus and Gwen they are two characters that you would be happy to know. I can't express how much I enjoyed this book — a great surprise after reading Captured by the Highlanderbook one of the series, which I thought was enjoyable but not capturing.

But that changes big time and Gwen is the perfect strong hjghlander to match him. Gwendolen stood above and heard his announcement and was absolutely terrified, rightly so.

And Julianne MacLean outdid herself this time around. Kiss after kiss, his hunger fuels her passion.

Highly recommended and much more than I juliannd Charging in, taking control of Gwendolen's Castle which was his by birthright and annoncing to every person there that he would claim her as his wife and unite the two clans. Angus has brought an army to take back his home.

This one was much better than the first one. The thing is, Angus isn't even sure if he cpaimed how to love, and he shuts off his emotions. But their distractions in each other give way to a rebellion by an enemy neither one of them saw coming.

MacLean takes a different path for him and his heroine, instead of following along the same one in these two books.
